Webster Marine Sponsors Wakefest 2008 at Smith Mountain Lake

Smith Mountain Lake, VA, August 12, 2008 – Webster Marine was an official sponsor of the 2008 Brostock Wakefest Wakeboarding Tournament at Smith Mountain Lake over the July 19 – 20^th weekend. More than 1,000 Wakeboarding enthusiasts and spectators from around the region and beyond participated in the tournament.

The 6^th annual event attracted professional wakeboard and wakeskate professionals, provided an arena for local and regional wake sport enthusiasts to compete, and gave visitors an excuse to browse Webster Marine’s inventory of deck boats, Pontoons, and Sea Doos on display.

Mark Mills, Owner of Webster Marine, said the 2008 Wakefest event was an excellent platform for the business. “You really can’t beat this tournament – it draws hundreds of locals and guests to the lake for a spectacular weekend, and gets people excited about lake activity. There’s no better outlet for Webster Marine to showcase our inventory,” said Mills.

Micah Gaudio, Owner of WakeNSkate Board Shop, another sponsor of the event, said the tournament was the largest to date. “Having a tournament of this caliber at Smith Mountain Lake is very exciting, not to mention incredibly supportive of both the local economy and wake scene. We are thrilled to host such an influential event that gets better every year.”
